The Vummidi Nandagopal Sons’ legacy is one of beauty, grace, and quality.
Since the 1900s, VNS has been in the jewellery business for over a century. Our legacy began with
Vummidi Bangaru Chetty and his quest to Madras.
From humble beginnings, started with an upturned umbrella outside the Chennakevasava Perumal temple in George Town,
Chennai, Vummidi Bangaru Chetty created Vummidi Nandagopal Sons. His tenacity, eye for quality, and flare for business
made his dreams a reality.
He built VNS from the ground up and made it an intrinsic part of Chennai’s jewellery market.
Vummidi Anjaneyalu Chetty joined his father in 1900, making it a family business. This was a pivotal step in our long and
storied history and made our company what it is today. Vummidi Nandagopal, the son of Vummidi Anjaneyalu Chetty, was an
integral part of the company. His efforts earned him a place in several prestigious committees that regulated jewellery both
in supply and quality. VNS is now run by the fourth generation with Vummidi Praveen Kumar at the helm.
