It began outside a temple
In the 1890s, one craftsman set up his trade outside a temple in George Town, Madras. By 1900, he and his wife had made it a formal house. A hundred and twenty-six years later, it is still run by their family, and it still keeps their standard.

You sit down
The stones come out loose, with their GIA Reports beside them, and you may hold them to the light for as long as the decision takes. A fifth-generation GIA gemologist explains what you are looking at in plain terms, including the trade-offs nobody advertises.

Nothing is made until you have, down to the prong profile and the width of the band. Only then does the stone leave the tray, and only then does anything change hands.
